Dos Maderas ist ein Melasse Rum für den das beste Zuckerrohr der Inseln verwendet wird. Die Destillate für den Blend werden separat auf Barbados und Guyana hergestellt und reifen in amerikanischen Bourbon Fässern fünf Jahre in ihren Herkunftsländern. Danach wird er nach Spanien verschifft, um weitere fünf Jahre in Sherry Fässern (P.X ist ein Hinweis auf die Sherry Traube Pedro-Ximénez) nachzureifen. entwickelt er einen sinnlichen Duft, der von Melasse, Vanille, Muskatnuss, Zimt, Marzipan, Karamell und Rosinen getragen wird. Der Geschmack ist nicht minder reichhaltig. Verführerisch verbindet sich Honig mit Vanille, Sherry mit einem Hauch von Röstaromen. Alle Fruchtnoten, die man in der Nase entdeckt, spiegeln sich am Gaumen in eindrucksvoller Weise wieder.
